1. What is CCD?
The Centre for Constitutional Dialogue (CCD) is designed to be an independent national institution to support Nepal’s constitution building process through providing training opportunities, expert advice, information, dialogue space as well as promoting public awareness.
2. Who funds the CCD?
Core funding for the CCD comes from a consortium of donors led by the UNDP, with core funding coming from the Government of Denmark. It is planned that the CCD should become economically self-sufficient over time.
3. What does the Center offers?
It offers a wide range of training related to the constitutional issues for CA members and civil society. Topics for such training include Constitutional Principles, Fundamental Rights, Federalism and Re-Structuring the State. It also offers training on computer operation, language (basic English), public speaking and media relations, and leadership and management.
4. Does it organize the workshops, seminars and interaction programmes?
It organizes workshops, seminars, expert lectures and interaction programmes on a regular basis around different thematic areas in collaboration with civil society institutions and NGOs.
5. What are the thematic areas for such workshops, seminars and interaction programmes?
The areas include participatory constitution-building processes, children’s rights in the constitution, state and religion in a secular constitution, the right to social justice and social inclusion, the status of women: women’s rights in traditional societies etc.
6. What are the other services offered by the Centre?
- The CCD library is a one-stop knowledge hub for information and resource materials on issues relevant to constitution making in Nepal. It includes the collection of books, articles, journals, and audio-visual materials, etc. The materials will be made available in7 national languages which include Nepali, Newari, Tharu, Bhojpuri, Maithili, Tamang and Magar.
- It provides fully equipped halls for CA members, civil society institutions, and NGOs to host meetings and discussions on issues relevant to the writing of a new constitution.
- Interpretation service is available on demand.
- The CCD will avail legal and other experts from various fields related to constitution who could provide technical support based on requests.

The Centre has a very good internet facility which allows the research of different materials available online.
