About the CCD

The Centre for Constitutional Dialogue (CCD) is a resource centre established to support Nepal’s constitution making process through providing training opportunities, expert advice, information, dialogue space as well as promoting public awareness. It is open to the Constituent Assembly members, civil society, and anyone who is interested in the constitution making process. The CCD is an initiative by the UN Development Program (UNDP) project on Support to Participatory Constitution Building in Nepal (SPCBN).

It is located in Buddhanagar, Kathmandu (5 minutes’ walk from the Constituent Assembly Building).


Objectives of the CCD

  • To benefit all Nepali people interested in the constitution-building process.
  • To provide a neutral and open environment for all political perspectives.
  • To promote an open and fact-based dialogue between CA members and their constituents throughout Nepal.
  • To ensure a special emphasis on promoting gender equity and social inclusion.
  • To work closely with the Constituent Assembly, provide required support for the CA and provide the general public with regular updates on the work of the CA.
  • To maintain close contact with NGOs, INGOs, civil society organizations (CSO's), UN and other agencies working on constitutional issues, and promote interaction among various stakeholders.

  4. Library with over 2,700 volumes on constitution building and other materials 
  5. Meeting Facilities with state-of-the-art translation, interpretation and audio-visual equipment  
  6. Access to technical experts and information materials
